Authors with Freedom Life Books write and speak from unique perspectives, having gracefully broken societal barriers. Freedom Life Books covers a broad range of issues, including minority rights, women’s equality, the transatlantic slave trade, Africa arising, and current-day justice movements. Dainess 
Maganda, Ph.D. 

Dr. Dainess Maganda is the Director of the African Languages, Literatures, and Cultures program in the Comparative Literature and Intercultural Studies Department (CLIS) at the University of Georgia. She teaches Swahili Language, Culture and Identity Linkages of Swahili with the Outside World, African Oral Literature, Introduction to African Languages and Culture and How to teach Less Commonly Taught Languages. Her publications focus on Language, Literacy, Comparative education, Intercultural studies, and Identity issues.

Author Edward Brown, Esq.

Attorney Edward M. Brown received the Crown-Zellerbach Fellowship to study at the University of California at Berkeley, where he majored in political science with a minor in economics. Mr. Brown received a Ford Foundation Fellowship to attend Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas. He has been a solo law practicer in South Carolina for forty-two years. Mr. Brown’s focus areas include constitutional law, employment discrimination law, Civil Rights law, criminal law, and other areas.
